I was born in Seattle, WA, lived for a short while in Northern California, and back again to Seattle where I was enrolled in preschool and graduated Kindergarden. Following my parent’s divorce, my mom, my twin sister and I moved and I was pretty much raised during my elementary school years in the Mid-West in good old Indiana. My twin sis and I moved in the late 1980’s to Northern Virginia to live with my father, step-mom and little sister. It is there that I graduated High School.
I then moved to Seattle for a couple of years and started college at Shoreline before moving back to Indiana where the cost of living was good and I could finish my degree in Occupational Therapy.
Yes, I’m a product of a divorced family, but don’t feel too sorry for me as I gained two step-parents who I grew to love very much. I also have a sister from my Dad and step-mom and can’t imagine not having her in my life to love.
Shortly after moving back to Indiana to finish school I met my future husband as we worked together in an outpatient clinic assisting the therapists with their patient care. This was in the early 1990’s before there were laws limiting what us ambitious college kids could do in the clinic to help out!
My future hubby and I were just friends though and didn’t date each other for over 4 more years. After we finally did start to date we were engaged not too long after that.
I was married to him in 1997 and we had our first of three boys in 2003… the second in 2006 and the third in 2009. After 22 years of marriage, many years of which were rich with learning and personal growth we decided the most loving path for each of us respectively and all of us collectively, was to uncouple and for each of us to head our own households with our children having 2 homes to go to and find love in. He moved into his own home 8 houses down and the transition was rough yet it seems we have created a new normal.
My life is full and busy right now and some days I don’t know what side is up! Between trying to learn what it means to be a single woman in her 40’s, raising the boys as a single mom with a coparent up the street, working, the boys activities and interests, friendships, and a rich spiritual life and budding new relationship with a wonderful man, my life is full, full, full! Most days (every day?) I don’t think I could do it without God… my Higher Power, the Source of life, light and love.
This is just a little bit of info about me for those who wonder where this Blonde came from and what she’s up to most days. Most likely it is laundry, playing with the boys, working or connecting with others and with God as much as I can! Thank you so very much for stopping by and please come back often to visit. As always I love respectful comments and questions. I have much I’d love to share with you… most of all I want to share with you God’s Love.
