Not Just A Blonde

We are "Not Just" who we seem to be on this Earthly plane, but so much more. We are ALL children of a loving God who is calling us home to Love. This blog is dedicated to those of us on that journey together…

Have you ever noticed when a light shines from one-direction as it hits something substantial a shadow is cast? Yet, if lights shine from all around the shadows are dampened and few! I cannot help but reflect on the spiritual significance in this!

We are each called to be a light for the world! If we all were shining brightly yet standing close together a large shadow would be cast across the room, yet if each of us stand in our place, in the path and position God has called us to stand, our collective light is dispersed and we will light an entire room from end to end! We shine best if we shine together… each of us one part of many lights shining from multi-directions.

May we cast our lights out together to a world that desperately needs more light… and less shadows!

Ann, this subject is also thought-provoking, because a light can be enclosed and focused, or it can be open, allowing its light to escape in all directions. I have usually thought of the open one, but you have provided an alternative that also has meaning for me. The New Testament usually referred to the open light, as in a city on a hill, or a light not hidden under a bowl; however, it is of interest that the enclosed light cannot be seen, except from in front. That leads me to the light of the eyes, since our thoughts can often be read in the eyes, as in the smile in the eyes. If a person’s smile does not show in their eyes, we can discern that they are not truly smiling, so they do not truly love us.
